A Look at Syria’s Astrology (Using Tropical Charts)
September 20, 2013 Pt. 3
by Kevin D. Raphael Fitch

This is another brief survey of Syria’s astrology. Syria’s tropical chart is just as relevant and timely, as her sidereal version, which I briefly discussed in last two Blogs. The currents of space are intensifying in this country; the people are moving forward to the climax of a cycle and shift, which may come to pass by late March. Right now, the people of Syria are experiencing a direct influx of powerful astrological rays, of which the whole country is saturated.

On Thursday, 18 April 1946 The Oregonian announced the midnight celebration of the departure of French and British troops. The departure occurred on Monday, 15 April, 1946 and Syria organized an official celebration of that fact, beginning at midnight on Wednesday the 17th.

The article was released by AP on page 2 of the Oregonian.Germane to the UN report, of Wednesday, 21 August, 2013 that Sarin Gas was used in Ein Tarma, Moadamiyah and Zalmaka, against civilians, is the confluence of Syria’s progressed Moon, which is applying to conjunction with the progressed Ascendant, by 43 minutes of arc. The 3rd House represents the streets of the Ghouta region North-East of Damascus, in this case. The Moon (people) is ruler of the 7th House of international relations and as it represents the public force of the land, it has a direct implication for the entire country, represented by its progressed Ascendant. In a way, the Moon, besides ruling the masses, could also be looked at as being the eyes of certain of the international community, on Syria (progressed Ascendant), due to its 7th House lordship.

President Bashar al-Assad is represented by the 10th House (Executive Branch) and so the progressed Midheaven, in the 12th House, in Capricorn (sign of authority in a House of clandestine activity), has been gradually moving to a square with natal retrograde Neptune having already passed its progressed Neptune retrograde square. Here is a scandal regarding chemical weapons and gases, especially poison gas, which is traditionally  associated with Neptune. Saturn in Scorpio was in the 10th House at the time, of the reported attack, in sextile with the progressed Midheaven and semi-sextile natal Neptune.

The progressed Sun also represents the leader of Syria and has been in the 6th House (military) for more than a decade. The progressed Sun had recently moved into the sign of Cancer, about 13 months ago. The Sun rules the 8th House (mortality rate of a country) and being that the Sun is in Cancer, deposited by the Moon, which is conjunct the progressed Ascendant, while the Sun is progressing through a house of the military, we can see how these simple combinations can yield much useful insight, about the people of Syria. The Sun’s sextile with progressed Mars, in the 8th, in Virgo is another testimony to the forces of death, the military and Syria’s leader.

Syria’s progressed Moon had passed a trine with progressed Pluto, by four minutes, at the time of the reported attack and the trine shows the ease at which weapons of awesome power to harm, can be employed. Pluto is ruler of the presidential 10th House.

Another considerable fact is the transit of Jupiter to the 7th House cusp. With diplomacy being attempted by the United States and Russia, to maneuver Bashar al-Assad to reveal and destroy his chemical weapons, here is a measurement that relates to the secretive 12th House, with its ruler Jupiter, on the cusp of the House of foreign relations. Perhaps the approaching conjunction of transiting Jupiter with natal Saturn, which is another mundane symbol of Syria’s government structure, may soften the cold ‘ring pass not’ and open a dialogue of accountability for the survival of this ancient land.

By the end of March of 2014 we may see the complete revolution of the country in confluence with transiting Uranus conjunct the progressed Ascendant and transiting Pluto conjunct the natal Ascendant See tropical chart below, click to expand.

A Look at Syria’s Astrology (Using Sidereal charts)
September 19, 2013 Pt. 2

The considered Syrian chart, based on “Evacuation Day” [midnight, on Wednesday, 17 April, 1946] provides a number of “hits” as to its credibility; for a chart is usually unconsidered as “radical” without some correlation of astrological principles.

On Thursday, 18 April 1946 The Oregonian announced the midnight celebration of the departure of French and British troops. The departure occurred on Monday, 15 April, 1946 and Syria organized an official celebration of that fact, beginning at midnight on Wednesday the 17th. The article was released by AP on page 2 of the Oregonian.

The transiting Sun conjoined Syria’s progressed Sun, when Hafiz al-Assad, died on Saturday, 10 June 2000. He was father of the incumbent, Bashar al-Assad. Syria’s Sun rules the 8th House of Death. Also, the natal/progressed Sun conjunction occurred in the 8th House from the 10th, which is a more focused indicator of the president’s passing.

In terms of a shift of government and a new start the progressed Ascendant had entered a new sign, Pisces, at 53 minutes of arc. this pointed the country in a new direction and with that there’s Venus, ruler of the presidential 10th House and al-Hafiz al-Assad’s significator, which progressed into 11 minutes of Cancer.

Progressed Venus is the ruler of the 8th House from the 10th and gives a further “clue of significance” to the astrological combinations related to Syria. If we examine the coup d’état of 13 November, 1970 what is apparent is the progressed Venus conjunction with natal Uranus, by one minute. this clearly shows the break away from the regime of Yusuf Zu’ayyin Jadid, which also, had occurred in the 8th House from the 10th. Also, the progressed Sun had entered a new sign by three minutes, from the 4th House of opposition parties.

If this isn’t enough, to confirm the radicalness of the chart, let’s consider the transit of Pluto applying to a conjunction of the progressed Moon, by 16 minutes. The Moon is the co-ruler of the 7th House, which is the 10th from the 10th of the former Jadid regime. There are many more examples that I can site, yet one more pertinent detail is the trine of transiting Uranus to the Sun/Mars midpoint, which falls in the 8th House from the 10th and relates to new conditions as well as a military type intervention, related to the above mentioned coup d’état, of  November of 1970. A Look at Syria’s Astrology Pt. 1 (Using Sidereal Charts)
September 18, September
by Kevin D. Raphael Fitch

Syria has had several moments of levels of autonomy. There are too many to consider in this short Blog. The time that I’ve used for modern Syria’s critical moment is Wednesday, 17 April, 1946. This is taken by Syrians to be their day of independence. This was the time that the last French soldier left Syria, so it is also known as “Evacuation Day.” To Syrians that term denotes a clearance; such as when the French “cleared out”.

Syria’s entry into the Arab-Israeli Conflict, which began on Monday, 15 May, 1948 may have been avoided, or even sublimated, if the natal Sun/Mars square, which linked the 3rd House of neighboring nations and the 7th of perceived enemies had been contemplated by the nation’s leaders. On that day the progressed Sun and progressed Mars were only applying by two minutes of arc. Transiting Mercury was at the midpoint of the Sun/Mars square, which rules the 7th of foreign peace or conflict.

These general observations help add a touch of trustworthiness to the natal chart.

There is a proneness to conflict here, as seen by the Sun’s oppositional glance, from the 3rd of Syria’s neighbor, Israel, to the Moon in the 9th of foreign correspondence; also, the Libran Moon which suggest the delicate balancing of the forces of war or peace. Note the concentration of planets in the Western Hemisphere. (See chart below.)

In Syria’s Vedic chart, the country was born in a Rahu Dasa and was also running a Rahu Bhukti Dasa at the time of the conflict. Rahu can be a blind force, like gun powder burning in the open air. Rahu is in the 6th House (Sathu Bhava) of the (birth chart) which house governs the army and the ability of a country to defeat its enemies. Mars, which is also connected to war and violence, is in the 8th House (Mrityu Bhava), in Cancer, where it is weak, an indicator of a failure to achieve victory. Even though Mars is a friend of the Moon and has strong Shad Bala numbers (planetary strength), it wasn’t enough to triumph, even with the Allies of the Arab League. To generally top it off, the Moon, rules the 8th House, which is called an evil House and was the Antara Dasa, Syria was running at the time. See Vedic chart, below. Pt. 2 tomorrow.
